Manufacturers recommend your air-con system is recharged with gas and lubricant every two years
This service is not part of routine vehicle servicing, so if your vehicle is more than two years old it is probably due a recharge. Aircon systems not fully recharged will be less effective and have to work harder putting more strain on the engine and using more fuel.
Car air conditioning Andover offers a complete air conditioning recharge service. We can also include a system de-bug to clear bacterial build up from within the system, which will remove any unpleasant odours.
HFO - 1234YF - The New Air Conditioning Standard

Air con Andover will ensure your vehicle’s HFO-1234YF based air conditioning system is serviced and re-gassed in the most efficient and reliable way possible.
Our Guarantee
If we carry out a recharge to you vehicle's AC system and within 8 weeks you develop a leak, we will carry out a free* system recharge. This is subject to us carrying out all necessary repairs that your system requires prior to being recharged again.
We also offer up to a 2 year / 24,000 mile warranty on our repairs.
NOTE:
It is environmentally-unfriendly and illegal to put refrigerant into a vehicle if you know or suspect there to be a leak in it.
* Free system recharge offer only applies to R134a systems
What about older vehicles?
Vehicles built before 2013 mostly use a refrigerant known as R134a in their air con systems. There is no requirement to convert cars built to run on R134a to use this new refrigerant, they may legally be recharged with R134a for the foreseeable future.
Recharging Your Air Con System
Your vehicle’s air con system will lose around 10% to 15% of its refrigerant each year. If your system is not serviced for three years you will have lost almost half of the refrigerant.
This means your air con system’s compressor will have to run for much longer to keep your vehicle cool, increasing your fuel consumption.
If your system is not recharged, it is most likely to let you down when you need it most – on really hot days. When the system is low on charge it will not be able to achieve the low temperature required to cool the interior of your vehicle.
WARNING: The refrigerant carries oil around as it circulates to lubricate the system. Insufficient gas means insufficient lubrication and possibly compressor failure.
